As our name suggests, we at Purple Dragon Soft-Wash have extensive experience with soft washing. We also know not everyone is familiar with this term, so allow us to explain it here. Soft washing is a method of exterior cleaning developed as an alternative to traditional pressure washing. Where standard pressure washing relies on water pressure alone to remove dirt and grime, soft washing involves first treating the target surface with a specialized cleaning solution to emulsify the dirt particles first. Once the cleaning solution has loosened things up, our team will then proceed to the second step in soft washing, which is to spray down the surface with water—using a much lower level of pressure than is used in pressure washing—to wash all the grime away.
Soft washing is much gentler on surfaces than pressure washing, which makes it ideal for softer or more delicate materials. For example, it is better to use soft washing on shingle roofs, as the lower water pressure will not knock the shingles loose as pressure washing sometimes can. In addition, the cleaning chemicals used in soft washing will eliminate contaminants, such as mildew and algae, and keep the target surface cleaner for longer than water alone would.
